Is a building permit required for installing a carport?

Permit requirements vary depending on your local council regulations, the size of the structure, and its location on your property. We recommend checking with your local council or a qualified building surveyor to confirm specific requirements. We do not arrange building permits. Customers are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits before installation.

Can you provide documents to help with my permit application?

Yes, we can provide product specifications, engineering drawings, and other relevant documents to assist with your building permit application.

Can you recommend someone to help with the permit process?

We do not handle applications directly but can refer you to independent certifiers, building surveyors, or installers listed in our Installer Directory who may assist.

Are your products manufactured to Australian Standards?

Yes, all our Carports, Patios, Awnings, and Custom DIY kits are designed and manufactured in accordance with relevant Australian Standards for safety, durability, and structural integrity.

Do your products meet wind load requirements?

Our kits are engineered to meet Australian wind conditions. For high-wind regions, additional bracing kits are provided. The N2 standard is engineered to withstand wind speeds of up to 86 km/h, with occasional gusts reaching up to 144 km/h.

Are the materials tested for quality?

Yes, we use high-quality aluminium frames and polycarbonate roofing sheets that undergo strict quality control to ensure strength, UV protection and long-term durability.

Are the products fire-rated or bushfire compliant?

Some components may be suitable for use in bushfire-prone areas. Please contact us with your site requirements so we can confirm compliance and provide documentation.

Are DIY kits suitable for council approval?

Yes, our DIY kits can be approved by local councils, as they are manufactured to Australian Standards. We can provide engineering drawings and certificates to assist with your application.

Do you provide installation services?

No, we do not provide professional installation. All our Carports, Patios, Awnings, and Custom orders are designed as DIY kits.

Can I install the product myself?

Yes, all our products are designed for easy DIY installation. With clear instructions and pre-cut materials, they are suitable for individuals with varying levels of experience. If you are unsure, please contact us for additional product or assembly information.

Do the kits come with all the tools required for assembly?

All our kits include all necessary components and hardware to complete the assembly, but do not include tools such as drills, screwdrivers, ladders, or other equipment. Most kits require standard tools commonly found in household toolsets. Specific requirements are listed in the instruction manual.

Can I get help if I have difficulty assembling the kit?

Yes, our support team is available during standard operating hours to provide guidance via phone or email if you encounter any issues during assembly.

Is there a warranty on DIY kits?

Yes, our products carry a warranty covering replacement parts. Aluminium frames have a 7-year warranty, polycarbonate sheets 3 years, and bracket awnings 3 years.

How long does assembly take?

Assembly time depends on the size of the kit and your experience level. Smaller kits may take a few hours, while larger projects can require a full day or more to complete.

What is the delivery timeframe?

In-stock items are dispatched within 2 business days. Estimated delivery times: VIC 2–4 days, NSW 4–8 days, QLD 6–10 days, WA 6–10 days, SA 4–8 days, ACT 4–6 days.

Custom orders take approximately 8–12 weeks to prepare. Although 98% of our orders are delivered within the stated timeframes, any unforeseen delays will be promptly communicated to you.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs vary depending on your location and order size. You’ll see the shipping cost at checkout.

Alternatively, just leave a 5-star Google review for our customer service, and we will provide you with a code for free delivery Australia-wide on all our Carports, Patios, Awnings and Custom orders.

How will I know when my order is arriving?

Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details by email so you can follow its progress.

Please note that your order may be delivered in multiple consignments, depending on the carrier’s schedule.

Are all items in stock?

Most standard sizes are kept in stock. Custom sizes are made to order and take 8–12 weeks to prepare.

Are there areas with limited delivery options?

Some remote or regional areas may incur additional delivery charges if you are using free delivery code. To confirm delivery to your specific suburb, please start the chat from the bottom right corner of the screen or email us at info@carportsandoutdoors.com.au

We occasionally run free delivery promotions, which cover standard shipping charges only. If your address is in a regional or remote area, partial shipping fees may still apply. If your address is outside our standard coverage area, we’ll inform you of any additional charges before dispatch. These must be paid to ensure timely delivery.

Can I pick up my order directly from your warehouse?

Yes, local customers can arrange for in-person pickup. Please contact us in advance to schedule a convenient pickup time.

Should I book an installer before my delivery arrives?

No. Please wait until all packages for your order have been delivered before booking an installer. Carports & Outdoors is not liable for any delays or costs if installers are scheduled before delivery is complete.

Do you have a physical store or showroom?

Yes, our main warehouse and showroom are located in Laverton North, Victoria. Customers are welcome to visit by appointment.

What are your opening hours for visits?

Visits are generally available from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays. We recommend booking an appointment in advance to ensure staff are available to assist you.

Can I view product samples at your location?

Yes, we have a selection of Carports, Patios, Awnings, and material samples available for viewing at our warehouse.

Is there parking available on-site?

Yes, we have convenient on-site parking available for visitors.
